  • Hillary Clinton Outraged in the Congo

    Monday, August 10, 2009

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton lost her cool Monday after a Congolese student, speaking through a translator, asked her what “Mr. Clinton” thought about a Chinese trade deal with the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

“You want me to tell you what my husband thinks?” Clinton replied, clearly irked by the thought of being her husband Bill’s spokeswoman.

“My husband is not secretary of state, I am,” she replied. “If you want my opinion I will tell you my opinion. I am not going to be channeling my husband.”

The only problem? Apparently the translator made a mistake and the student had wanted to know what President Obama thought of the deal. A State Department official tells ABC News the student went up to Clinton after the event and told her he was misquoted. No immediate word yet how Clinton responded.

Regardless of the error, the notion of Secretary Clinton’s deference to her husband clearly touched a nerve with America’s top diplomat. Just a week ago the former President stole his wife’s thunder when he appeared in North Korea to rescue two American journalists detained there. His trip came just as Secretary Clinton embarked on a swing through Africa she hoped would shine light on the plight of the continent.

Still, imagine what the students thought when her response was translated back and they heard Clinton call President Obama her husband.

  • Bill Maher: Obama Drank A 40 While Sonia Sotomayor Brought The Guacamole (VIDEO)

Bill Maher phoned-in for an interview on “Way Too Early with Willie
Geist” Friday morning, staying awake until 2:40AM on the West coast to do Geist’s 5:30AM ET show.

The interview began on a lighthearted note, with Maher riffing on Barack Obama’s beer summit with Harvard Professor Henry Louis Gates and Cambridge police Sgt. James Crowley.

“Just to mess with the conservatives, Obama was drinking a forty of King Cobra,” Maher said. “I swear I saw Sonia Sotomayor bringing some guacamole into that room.”

Maher lamented that “between [the Gates story] and Michael Jackson, I have no idea what’s going on with Jon and Kate these days”.

The conversation turned serious when Maher began to muse on the nature of racism today, which he said is at “an unconscious level”.

“Racism has moved on, it’s a lot more subtle now” Maher noted.

  • Former Alaska Governor (Dumb Ass Broad) Says, ‘I Feel Great’ After Leaving Office

Posted on July 27th, 2009 Joe Collins No comments

(I ought to cover them racist ass Cambridge Cops and President Obama’s feelings towards the situation..but that’s played out like Kwame, and them Fucking Polka Dots..)

Alaskans start the work week with a new governor, Sean Parnell, and an old puzzle: Why exactly did the old governor, Sarah Palin, step down, and what are her plans for the future?
    Share

So far, only a possible family vacation is on tap, her husband Todd Palin told ABC News.

“Maybe a little moose hunting, what do you think?” he said, adding that he was “very proud” of his wife.

Palin officially stepped down as Alaska’s governor late Sunday, saying her reasons for doing so should “be obvious.” But for those still in the dark, she repeated her belief that she thought she could more effectively serve the people of the state by leaving office.

She went out with a bang, delivering a fiery and candid 15-minute farewell speech to a crowd of supporters in Fairbanks, Alaska, in which she lambasted the media and touted Alaska’s history of energy independence.

At times, it sounded as if the former vice presidential candidate was back on the campaign trail, stumping for fiscal conservatism, the development of natural energy resources and moral conservatism.

Yet she gave no hint as to her future in politics, saying only she stepped down in order to spare Alaskans “politics as usual” from her governorship turning into a “lame duck session,” with a year-and-a-half to go.
