Lorillard Inc.’s second-quarter profit jumped 32% as its Newport menthol cigarettes continue to gain market share.

“These results clearly reflect the continuing success of our strategy of balancing profitability and nurturing Newport’s market share,” said Chairman and Chief Executive Martin Orlowsky.
